Revan Mereel (prodigalsith)

Darth Revan is, as far as he knows, the first Revan to make an appearance in the Nexus. This really doesn’t make much difference to him, except that all of the others are curiously Light Side-oriented and female. Either way, he is handsome and full of EB0L and cordialness.

He is munned by Jayde and his PB is Wayne Stephens

Family

Axis Polo- Biological father; was killed by Jedi Master Vrook Lamar when Dann was 5 years old. He now (still deceased) has a Body in the Nexus and tries to be involved in his son’s life. He still doesn’t like Carcer very much at all.
Dann- Alternate and adopted “younger brother” of Revan. He’s a sweetheart and Rev goes to great lengths to protect him, occasionally going so far as to stand in his stead when things get really bad.
Mandalore, aka Canderous Ordo- Adopted older brother. Revan and Mandalore have a long history; Revan essentially made him what he is. Mandalore would do just about anything if Revan asked, and would follow him to the afterlife and back if he could. They speak often and spar when they can.
Rev Akay- Protector. Akay showed up in the Nexus and pledged undying loyalty to Revan, though this has been sorely tested time and again, mainly by Zhin-Ja. However, Akay is more than willing to do whatever he’s told for as long as he’s able to, and does everything in his power to make sure his lord and `Master’ Carcer are well-protected.
Carcer Dun- Boyfriend. One was on the rebound (so to speak) and the other was just too curious to stop himself. They ended up kissing on Christmas one year and the rest is, as they say, history. A big, bloody, messy history.
Aryn Axis Dun- Improbable Nexus Son. Revan’s never actually asked how he and Carcer’s `Future Alts’ had a son, but he’s guessed and never wants to think about it again. Despite frequent pooh-poohing by the acquaintances of his ex, he’s unofficially adopted Aryn, if only to keep Axis happy.
Tobias Donn, aka The Exile- Ex-boyfriend. During the Mandalorian Wars they were something of an item, but after Revan turned to the Dark Side he tired of Tobias (who refused to join him anyway); Tobias went to exile after that. They met again in the Nexus, but never truly reconciled. They’ve gone their separate ways, and Revan makes an effort not to come into contact with Tobias.

History

The Early Years

"Revan had a mother and father, parents, ancestors, like all Jedi do. And when he awakened to his potential, I was there to see it. But where he was born, where he came from, I do not know… anymore than I know where he walks now. Some said that Revan was born in the Outer Regions, beyond the Rim, and that's what called to him during the Mandalorian Wars… and after. It was the call of home."
―Kreia

Dann Revan Polo was born on the planet Deralia, the son of Axis Polo (formerly Axis of Clan Mereel, a Mandalorian and prominent Jedi killer during the Sith War) and Raina Polo. Raina died of disease when Dann was one year old, but Axis was determined to raise his son like a proper Mandalorian. At the age of five, two Jedi came to the Polo household. The encounter resulted in Axis’s death, and Dann being taken to Coruscant to be trained as a Jedi.
After his arrival at the temple, Dann meet his soon-to-be best friend, Malak. He also befriended one Tobias Donn, who would much later be known only as the Exile.

Training and Knighthood

"Revan had many masters, Zhar, Dorak, Master Kae before Kae left for the Wars. Towards the end of his training, he sought out many to learn techniques. It is said that he returned to his first master at the end of his training, in order to learn how he might best leave the order."
―Mical

Dann learned quickly, excelling in most of his classes through sheer determination, though he made very few friends other than Malak and Tobias; he seemed emotionally distant to other younglings. He had many masters, as most younglings do, before finally becoming a padawan to one Master Kreia. Some say that she was the reason he later fell to the Dark Side, that her teachings had corrupted him; some say he was already corrupt. Either way, he trained under her guidance for eight years before he was ready to take the trials to become a Jedi Knight.
After attaining the rank, he spent a great deal of time pouring through the Jedi Archives, both on Coruscant and Dantooine. As well, the few missions he took were information gathering ones. No one was sure what he was looking for; in reality, he was gathering information on the Mandalorians and the Sith.

The Mandalorian Wars

"Who I am is not important, my message is."
―Revan

When the Mandalorians attacked the Republic, Dann was more than ready to go out and fight them. But as the Mandalorians advanced, the Jedi Council came to the decision that the Jedi would not involve themselves in a war against them. Dann was furious, and resolved that if the Council would do nothing, that at least he would. He and Malak recruited as many padawans and newly-knighted Jedi as they could, and offered their aid to the Republic.
In the first battles they participated in, the Jedi forces were crushed as easily as the rest. But Dann eventually found his legs. He switched to using his middle name, Revan, and started thinking like a Mandalorian in his tactics. Whether or not Axis got to see it, his son became a Mandalorian. The Republic stopped losing its battles, and the enemy was pushed back.
Revan could see the end of the war coming, and went to Malachor to see about making into a staging ground for the defeat of the Mandos. There he found evidence of a worse threat, far in the Unknown Regions. The end of one war was on its way, but he knew another would be not far behind, and he knew that the Republic would not be strong enough to handle it. He convinced himself that if the Republic was not strong enough, then he would make it strong enough.
He dispatched the troops that were least loyal to him to Malachor V for the final battle. When the day was won, he turned on the Republic, and the fleet came with him.

Amnesia

"Honor is a fool's prize. Glory is of no use to the dead.”
―Darth Revan

Revan took the title Darth, as did his constant companion Malak. Revan then began his conquest of the galaxy. No one knew the rhyme or reason behind the planets that Revan attacked, not even Malak. But Malak began to rankle under the yolk of his now-master.
The Republic, confounded by Revan’s actions and his ability to build a fleet seemingly out of nowhere, set an ambush for him with the help of the Jedi Bastila Shan. She and a strike team made it to the bridge of Revan’s flagship, the Korriban Fire, and were about to force his surrender when Malak fired on his master’s ship. Revan was, apparently, killed.
But Bastila Shan had barely managed to save the Dark Lord, and took him back to Dantooine. He was alive, but his brain had been severely damaged. They needed to know how he amassed a fleet as quickly as he had, so they reprogrammed him to be Dann Polo, a soldier of the Republic.
An amnesiac Revan then spent several months looking for the Star Forge, a machine powered by the Dark Side and capable of churning out ships by the hundreds, along with a crew that included Bastila Shan. She spent those months attempting to keep him on the Light Side, but he spent more time around Canderous Ordo, a Mandalorian with war stories to tell. Despite her intentions, he started to slip back into his old routine.
Malak eventually captured the group, and reminded Revan of who he used to be. Revan turned on Bastila, but she sacrificed herself to give him and the others time to get off Malak’s ship. Revan was, naturally, cross, but continued looking for the Star Forge. When he and the others found its location and were preparing to attack it, Bastila—now a slave to the Dark Side of the Force—came to Revan with an offer to join him. But he wasn’t willing to forgive her for reprogramming him, and not only declined her offer, but informed her that he was going to kill her.

Sith Lord Rising

"Savior, conqueror, hero, villain. You are all things, Revan… and yet you are nothing. In the end, you belong to neither the light nor the darkness. You will forever stand alone."
―Darth Malak

Despite the promise of death to her, he settled for killing his ex-apprentice and taking back his place as Dark Lord of the Sith. Carth Onasi, a loyal captain in the Republic, tried to bail on him, but Revan had remembered why he started the war in the first place, and took him and several others back into Republic space. Canderous Ordo and HK-47, a droid that Revan had built when he was Dark Lord the first time, stayed with him, as did Bastila for a time. He tired of her and eventually dumped her onto a Republic-controlled planet.
He was trying to reconcile his life as Dann Polo and his life as Darth Revan, and work around the problems that had come up in his life, particularly involving the Jedi Order and his own underlings, when he found the Nexus.

Current

After having something of a struggle with his own conscience, Revan left the galaxy he'd tried to save and moved into a fairly large three bedroom, two bathroom house in the Nexus with his black cat Juhani (named after a Cathar Jedi he'd travelled with while under the grips of amnesia) and his black-and-white checkered Gizka Atin (the Mandalorian word for 'stubborn).
He now lives with his boyfriend Carcer and is heavily involved with his alternate Dann, his father (who is a ghost these days), his old companion Tobias "The Exile" Donn, and Tobias's two apprentices/padawans/roommates Kale and Trever Delvar. He tends to try to get involved with the other Force-Users and Force-Sensitives in the Nexus, attempting to teach later generations about his 'Grey Side' philosophy or else gather information about how times have changed since he was alive. His streak of curiosity is still alive and well, occasionally driving him to great lengths to obtain information on whatever subject has intrigued him.
He has a good deal of funds left from the Jedi Civil War that he froze in several bank accounts for his personal use, but still holds down a job as a swoop racer, mechanic, and electronics/droid builder (thanks to his technopathy).

Abilities

Mundane

Revan is incredibly good with machines of all kinds, particularly slicing (hacking) computer systems. “There’s no system I can’t slice,” was a commonly uttered phrase for him when he had amnesia.
He is also particularly persuasive when he wants to be. He can’t make anyone do anything they wouldn’t normally already, but he’ll do his damnedest to at least make them see his side of the argument.
Despite his rapport with machines, defusing bombs is beyond him. His brain doesn’t quite work toward tinkering with explosives. Also, if you’re in need of medical care, it would be a better idea to go somewhere besides to Revan. He’s as likely to make it worse as… well, usually he just makes it worse. Not to mention that his sense of balance is impeccably terrible; so much as a single shudder of a ship can send him to the ground.

Combat

Revan favors using two weapons over just one, or a double-bladed weapon if nothing else is available. Between ranged weapons and melee, he’d rather go head-to-head with an opponent; his shooting skills are middling at best. When using his lightsabers, he favors either the Niman or Juyo forms.

The Force

Revan is incredibly gifted with using the Force; the problem is that he favors using it as a hammer, rather than a rapier. He is incapable of using most ‘buffing’ powers, but can use destructive Dark Side-based powers like it was nothing – he is particularly skilled in the use of Force Lightning and a specialized version of telekinesis known as the Force Crush. As with his mundane abilities, he is shite with using healing powers. Even if he had the talent for them, he would probably never make use of them; why waste time healing an ally when you could strike at the throat of the enemy that harmed them?

Quirky

  • Revan has a black cat named Juhani, a black-and-white checkered Gizka called Atin, and a bad-tempered Rapidash named (inventively) Ash
  • He also has a pack of Tu’kata guarding his house, thanks to Akay
  • He often slips into speaking Mandalorian when he’s in a particularly foul mood
  • He is a polyglot and will learn any language that’s available for him to learn
  • He cooks a mean beef stew
  • He spent several months moonlighting as an exotic dancer on Taris during his amnesiac days
    • Carcer found this very amusing.
  • Revan also has a metric fuckton of tattoos and scars
    • No, he won’t show all of them to you.
  • His alcohol tolerance is very high
